We do not collect payment card data directly. All payment processing is handled by third-party providers (Razorpay) who are PCI-DSS compliant.

• Directly from you — when you register, create a listing, or send messages.
• Automatically — through cookies and server logs when you use the Platform.
• From third parties — if you connect via social login (if applicable in future).

• To create and manage your account.
• To display your startup listing to investors.
• To facilitate messaging between founders and investors.
• To send you transactional emails (account verification, password reset, message notifications).
• To improve the Platform through usage analytics.
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with applicable laws and regulations.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or significant effects on you.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• With other users — Your listing information is visible to registered investors. Your contact details (phone, email) are only shared after you connect with an investor.
• With service providers — We use trusted third-party providers for email (PHPMailer/SMTP), hosting (cPanel), and payment processing (Razorpay). They process data only as necessary to provide services.
• For legal compliance — We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government authority in India.
• Business transfers — In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide services. Specifically:

• Account data — Retained until you delete your account, plus 30 days for backup purposes.
• Listing data — Retained for the duration your listing is active, plus 90 days after closure.
• Messages — Retained for 12 months after the last message in a thread.
• Usage logs — Retained for 90 days for security and debugging purposes.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data:

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a cost factor of 12.
• All data transmission is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS.
• Database access is restricted to authorised personnel.
• Session tokens are regenerated on login and expire after inactivity.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Under applicable Indian law and as a matter of good practice, you have the following rights:

• Access — Request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — Update incorrect or incomplete data via your profile settings.
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Withdrawal of consent — Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time.
• Grievance — Lodge a complaint with our Grievance Officer.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from logging in.
